Description

Château Bellevue is a striking 19th-century residence in Villié-Morgon, built in 1840 by Lyon industrialists, and one of the most respected domaines in Beaujolais. While the estate sits within the Morgon appellation, it also farms parcels in neighbouring Fleurie, one of the ten Beaujolais crus and one consistently associated with floral delicacy and finesse. This Fleurie is grown on granitic sandy soils to around one metre depth, sitting over a granitic subsoil. Granite is the defining feature of the Fleurie terroir, and it shows clearly here. The result is a wine of real depth

Serve it cool, at around 14 to 16°C to let the aromatics open fully. It pairs well with duck, lamb, grilled beef or mushroom dishes.

Tasting Note

Aromas & flavours of blackcurrant, blackberry, liquorice, and dark chocolate unfold, the palate is rich and balanced, carried by silky tannins to a long elegant finish.
