Description

Gérard Bertrand's Château de la Grange is located in the coastal area of La Palme, in the Occitanie region. The grapes are organically grown and thanks to the proximity to the coast the vineyard enjoys all the benefits of a fresh micro-climate with the cooling winds helping to produce an expressive, highly aromatic wine bursting with ripe bramble fruit.
Bertrand was named Master Winemaker of the Year in The Drinks Business Magazine’s The Master Winemaker 100 (2023), which celebrates the very best of the wine world. He was acknowledged for his commitment to biodynamics and for the exceptional quality of his wines, which consistently scored high marks in the magazine’s tastings.

Tasting Note

Buckets of bramble fruit allied to leather spice notes, a medium body and a rounded soft palate.

Gérard Bertrand Château de la Grange Fitou

Irish Mail On Sunday

We don't see enough Fitou in Ireland and this is a fine example from the great Gérard Bertrand's Languedoc operation. Typically dark, it has plenty of mulberry fruit and black pepper. Rich but impeccably balanced, mainly Carignan and Grenache. Rare roast beef!
