Description

From Gérard Bertrand's family estate at the heart of Boutenac, the 'Grand Cru' of Corbiéres, this is a highly sophisticated red as good as any from the region. A blend dominated by old vine Carignan and Syrah with plenty of juicy cranberry and bramble fruit but also a herbal note plus coffee and leather on the long finish. A multi-award winner, Gérard was named Master Winemaker of the Year in The Drinks Business Magazine’s The Master Winemaker 100 (2023), which celebrates the very best of the wine world.

Tasting Note

Plenty of juicy cranberry and bramble fruit but also a herbal note plus coffee and leather on the long finish. Expressing some delicious bottle-aged character and wonderful gamey, leathery flavours. Beautifully smooth, soft tannins.

Warm ripe dark fruits, leather and herbs with a smooth finish. Supple yet packs a punch. Drink with roast red meats, or cassoulet, posh sausages, bean stews with peppers.
