Description

This is a truly special & impressive wine. Tempranillo Blanco is unique to Rioja, where only a small number of vineyards cultivate it. Bodegas Riojanas have recognised the grape’s exceptional quality & spent the past decade working closely with their growers to develop it before its release. The result is a distinctive wine that’s well worth trying, you won’t be disappointed.

Tasting Note

A white Tempranillo with aromas and flavours of tropical fruits coupled with citrus notes, and a hint of spice contributed by ageing in barrel. The palate is round and shows great fruit character, along with good length and persistence.

A white Tempranillo? Yes, and it’s only been around some 38 years. It’s not a true varietal, but a mutation of the red variety, discovered in 1988, and unique to the Rioja wine region where it is cultivated by a handful of vineyards. Very impressed on first tasting. A pale gold colour, with pineapple, citrus and spice notes on the nose, it has a splendidly fresh and well-rounded palate, with excellent acidity, notes of citrus and crunchy green apple. Good persistent length. Enjoy with: Chicken Korma
