Our Spanish wine sale is on all week and to celebrate we’ll have a bumper Spanish wine tasting in all of our stores this weekend!
I have highlighted below a few exciting modern wines from some of the best new-wave wineries in Spain, along with a couple of really good examples from Rioja. You’ll find all of these on the tasting tables from Thursday until Sunday! So pop in and try something new.
With the current Prosecco craze, it would be easy to overlook Cava, but to do so would mean missing out on great-value, delicious wines such as La Rosca.
From the cool, Atlantic-influenced vineyards of Galicia comes Spain’s most fashionable white wine; Albariño, Contrapunto is an excellent example.
A rich, full-bodied & dark-berried red, Luzon Crianza is from Jumilla in Southeast Spain where the climate is continental verging on to arid, moderated by the proximity of the Mediterranean.
A little further north we find the region of Utiel-Requena, really interesting reds are made here using the local Bobal grape variety, the organic Solo Tinto sits among the region’s finest wines.
As Viña Joven, Monte Real Tempranillo remains un-oaked, and is made in a fruit-forward style.
For a more traditional take on Rioja you should look no further than Marqués de Murrieta Reserva.
All of these wines will be available to taste in your local O’Briens store this weekend, so why drop in and try something new.
Our team visiting Marques de Murrieta last year.
